Dear Debby,
Have you ever wondered what's up with all the weddings in June? The name "June" comes from the Roman goddess Juno, wife of Jupiter: "she who brings children into light". The month of June connected the summersolstice with agriculture and human fertility, out of which sprung the best month for matrimony. The ancients knew how to celebrate, too - bonfires! It's interesting that we have modern traditions based on ancient cultures' respect for the earth's mysteries.

The summer solstice officially begins at 7:28am EST on June 21st. Happy Summer, Graduation, Father's Day, and Weddings! |

Warmest April on Record
Are you noticing that the weather has been a little too warm, and flowers are blooming 2-3 weeks earlier than usual? Well, you're right. 2010 is predicted to be the warmest year on record. January, February, March, and April have already broken records.

Plastics From CO2
Is this a good dream or what? Creating plastics out of CO2 has just been "discovered". This material could be used as a replacement for BPA and all of its evils while recycling overabundant CO2.
This would be a big WOW

Plastic Update
The owners of Klean Kanteen have received the Hero award in recognition of their commitment to supporting the work of the Breast Cancer Fund to eliminate BPA from all food and beverage containers. The chemical BPA found in the lining of aluminum water bottles is a known endocrine disruptor that can cause cancer. Kudos to KK!
More about Jeff and Michelle Check out our Klean Kanteens online!
Are disposable diapers safe? The chemicals found in these diapers can cause severe diaper rashes. Disposable diapers contain plastics, adhesives, elastics, lubricants, other petroleum products and more, but diaper companies are self-regulated and are not required to disclose their ingredient lists. Neurological and endocrine disruptors are suspected. (That's why we carry organic cloth diapers in our store.)

And The Good News Is...
After switching to organically grown fruits and vegetables, urine levels of pesticides drop to undetectable or close to undetectable levels. There is hope with this good news because ADHD in children is linked to pesticides in the body. ADHD in children |
